Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about Desmond, Rand and Guerard, P A. Our Firm’s story is one that I am proud to carry forward both as its President and as someone born and raised here in Maine. This State, and the people and businesses who make it what it is, have shaped my life and my career in every meaningful way.

DRG’s roots reach back several decades when Daniel J. Desmond, Esq. and Steven W. Rand, Esq., began a partnership, known for many years as Desmond and Rand, P.A., which would become a trusted and enduring Westbrook legal institution. Through practical judgment, steady leadership, and genuine commitment to their clients, Dan and Steve built a legacy of service that continues to define the Firm’s identity. After Dan’s passing in 2019, Steve carried the Firm forward with the same dedication and professionalism that clients had relied on for decades.

On January 1, 2023, I was honored to finalize my acquisition of Desmond & Rand and begin its next chapter as Desmond, Rand & Guerard, P.A. I started in what is now our Wells office, not far from my grand parent’s house in York (to this day, if you happen to drive by Long Sands when the waves are good – there’s a good chance you’ll see a wetsuit clad Guerard) and later expanded to Westbrook, which now serves as our primary hub. Maine has always been home, and building a modern boutique law firm that serves its people with integrity, clarity, and practical solutions has been a deeply meaningful part of my professional journey.

Over the past few years, we have grown significantly. Our attorney team has doubled, our practice groups have expanded, and we have integrated modern systems that allow us to serve our clients with greater efficiency and care. Throughout that growth we have remained grounded in the relationship driven service that has always set this Firm apart.

Today, DRG reflects a blend of tradition, innovation, and Maine values. With offices in both Westbrook and Wells, our mission is simple: to deliver exceptional counsel and dependable solutions while treating every client with the fairness, respect, and practicality that define our State.
